A two-day 'International Summit on "Women in Business" kicked off here on Thursday with the speakers stressing on the need for equal participation of women to boost the economy.

The 1st International Women in Business Summit (WIB SUM) 2017, with a moot connect, inspire, and prosper, held under auspices of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) here at local hotel, in joint collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC), Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), and the Bank of Khyber and other partners. Besides, a large number of women entrepreneurs, representatives of NGOs, INGOs, officials WBDC of SMEDA, the Bank of Khyber, partners, and other women organizations, four foreign businesswomen, include Rezani Aziz from Sri-Lanka, Zahra Golaiji of Islamic Republic of Iran, Sangita Nirola from Nepal, and Afghanistan, renowned Director/producer, first-female truck-driver, Shamim Akhtar, supermodel, Nadia Hussain, Momina Duraid and Zeenat Ahmad are also participating in the two-day event.

The participants said that the skilled women are treasure and future of the country, which must be facilitated at all level. Speakers viewed that opportunities are opened for women who want to start their own businesses but they suggest that there need to be chalked out a proper sensitization program for them.

In her welcoming address, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ms. Shamama Arbab elaborated the major purpose for organizing the international moot on Women in Business. She said that the women are extremely talented and have skills to compete at every level.
